Dr. Raden Joko Kuncoroningrat Susilo, S.Si., M.Si., Wants to Build His Own Research Center

UNAIR NEWS – Raden Joko Kuncoroningrat Susilo’s happiness is certainly doubled. Because, the student of the Faculty of Science and Technology was appointed as the Best Graduate with a GPA of 3.94. The graduate born in Surabaya, June 23, 1995 received a Doctorate with a dissertation entitled “Hepatoprotective Effect of Crude Extract of Polysaccharides of Ganoderma applanatum Against Mice Hepatic Fibrosis Induced by Carbon Tetrachloride”. He researched Ganoderma applanatum because its abundant amount has great potential to realize a healthy Indonesia.

Although his dissertation was hampered by the Covid-19 Pandemic, Raden made up for it with extra hard work when compiling the publication. “I researched the role of active polysaccharide ingredients in the crude extract of Ganoderma applanatum as an anti-inflammatory that can prevent the trigger of myofibroblast activation. By inactivating myofibroblasts, fibrosis can be avoided,” he explained.

Raden’s busyness during college was indeed inseparable from research and scientific publications. He often discussed with his promoter, co-promoter, and colleagues regarding the progress of fibrosis research. In addition, he was also often asked by the promoter to help guide undergraduate students to become evaluation materials for further research. His great love for research encouraged Raden to dream of building his own research center. He wanted to produce a lot of reputable research.
“I have always wanted to have my own research center, so that it would motivate me to do the best research along with quality scientific publications,” said the graduate who loves to read.
Currently, Raden is busy with an anti-cancer research project with his promoter. He is tasked with conducting research in the field and scientific publications in reputable journals.

Previously, Raden was also named the Best Graduate of Airlangga University. Precisely when he completed his Masters degree at FST UNAIR in March 2019. He considered the title a bonus. The real key to success according to Raden is time management. The portion of time for lectures, research, and off-campus activities must be right. In order to maintain this time management pattern, the level of discipline must also be high. So that the targets taken during college can be achieved.
“Keep working optimally. Nothing is late, just work well and correctly, you will definitely get ease and smoothness in everything,” he emphasized. (err/kef)
