Surabaya – Another commendable achievement has been recorded by a student of the Doctoral Program in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universitas Airlangga. Faishal Farrel Herdicho received the Best Presenter award at the International Science and Technology Conference (i-COSTECH 2026), held in a hybrid format on 23-24 September 2026 at Universitas Islam Riau, Pekanbaru, Indonesia.
The award was granted for his presentation of a scientific paper entitled “Modeling Climate Dynamics using a Lotka-Volterra Framework with Optimal Control.” The study proposes a mathematical modeling approach to investigate climate dynamics by employing the Lotka-Volterra model framework combined with optimal control methods. This topic demonstrates the potential of mathematical approaches for understanding complex environmental phenomena.
The i-COSTECH 2026 conference serves as an international scientific forum that brings together academics and researchers to share knowledge, research findings, and developments in innovation in the fields of science and technology. Faishal’s receipt of the Best Presenter award reflects recognition of the quality of delivery and presentation of his scientific work at the forum.
